Former Charismatic Epicscopal Churches Continue Their Journey

I was thrilled to hear today from my former CEC priest Father Denzil Roland. Father Denzil is now Father John Denzil and priest of St's Peter and Paul Orthodox Church (Western Rite) in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Father John reports that there are three to four other CEC churches about to come into the Orthodox faith through the Western Rite. This multiple movement of individual churches is unprecedented on this continent. Pray for those who are coming and those who will come. Pray for the Nashville Tennessee area, that a Western Presence will be established here as well.

JTO Blog Editor, Nathan Lee Lewis, has a B.A. in Radio, TV, Film from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a B.A. in Religion/Pastoral Ministries from Ouachita Baptist University. He is an award-winning writer, having received a First Place Award for Radio Special Feature from Arkansas Associated Press and was the recipient of a Gold Addy from the American Advertising Federation given for Communication Excellence. He is a former news and talk show producer for a local CBS affiliate. He was also a licensed and ordained Southern Baptist Minister until the mid 90's when he began his interim Journey To Orthodoxy. On that journey, he served on the clergy staff of several churches and finally attended Saint Michael's Seminary (ICCEC) and served as music and worship leader at an ICCEC church. He entered the Orthodox Christian Church in 2005 and served as a Reader in the Eastern Rite and a Cantor in the Western Rite. In 2022 after 17 years in the Orthodox Church, Nathan set aside time to read only the words of Christ in the Scriptures. There, he discovered the truth of the first century Christianity- Jesus, the human messiah, has a God, and His name is Yehovah. The doctrine of the Trinity is a late invention influenced by the Roman emperors, forced church councils, Greek philosophies, and thrust upon the church by fiat and political maneuvering. Nathan could no longer adhere to the Nicaean Creed, or any unbiblical doctrine or creed birthed in those circumstances. Truly "To be deep in history is to cease to be Orthodox."
