Pro-Life Feature Film in Pre-Development

I am encouraged by the nature of the most recent public attack on me by the Jezebel, Joanna Higginbotham, of Oregon. In the six years that she has been attacking me in public I have never answered one of her accusations--until now. I am encouraged because the nature of the attack is indication of the presence of God in my activities surrounding the pro-life movement and the sanctity of the life of the unborn. Higginbotham joined her partner-attacker, Minas Michael Christie, on his blog in inferring that I am pro-choice and was an Obama supporter. Higginbotham posted a sermonette in the comment section apparently designed to correct me. Although the content of her words are true, the context in which they appear is deceptively misleading and defamatory. Anyone seeing the post and the comment would get a false understanding of who I am. Anyone seeing the post title alone,  "Busted Again", would have no doubt as to the intentions of both Higginbotham and Christie to discredit me.

Higginbotham's Comment

I supported, and even campaigned for Mike Huckabee in the 2008 election, primarily for his pro-life views, and posted a JTO article at the time to that effect. I actively ran the Tennessee For Huckabee blog which was listed on the official Mike Huckabee For President website. I later voted for John McCain who won the nomination. The Republicans still have a pro-life platform which is worthy of consideration when deciding for whom to vote. I have never nor would I ever vote for a candidate that was not pro-life. During the same 2008 election cycle, I operated a blog called "O-bortion" which highlighted the then-candidate Obama's extreme abortion views.

When Obama won the election in 2008, I posted an article asking all to pray for our new president as we are commanded to do, because he was, in fact, to become the President of all Americans. Here is the short JTO post in entirety:
"I invite all JTO readers to pray for President-Elect Barack Obama as he leads the United States in this most difficult time in our history. I echo President-Elect Obama's words to those who did not support him during the election. He will be the president of all Americans. Choose prayer rather than criticism and allow our sovereign God to work his will and way in this nation. Prophesy if you must and criticize if it is warranted, but remember, the Kingdom of God will prevail and all nations and leaders will one day bow before the throne of God. God is still in control and Christ will come again."
I myself, did, in fact, later criticize with an article called The Usurper, but I also have prayed every week at the altar for "The President of the United States and all those in civil authority."  But Christie and Higginbotham have skewed these facts.

So why have Higginbotham and Christie borne false witness against me in this matter?  I believe this scripture explains it:
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."
The spirits of darkness that influence both of them would have them present me as the very opposite of who I am and the very opposite of what I am equipped by our Lord to do, so as to thwart the purpose of God in protecting the innocent unborn. But why attack me in particular, and to what purpose?

Through my Rocky Top Pictures, LLC, I have been producing a feature film designed to be the definitive pro-life film. The Rocky Top Pictures website has been cryptic as to the nature of the film, and the title is still undisclosed, because it is a true story whose subjects are still alive. You, the JTO Readers, are the first to be privy as to the nature of this film. The adapted screenplay is ready and meetings are talking place to produce it and bring the film to the theaters.

JTO readers, do you want to see this film made? Then pray. Pray that the Jezebelian voices like Higginbotham and Christie will be silenced and that those of us who are given a voice in the film industry are allowed to speak for the sake of the unborn.

JTO readers, do you want to see this film made? Then leave an encouraging comment in the comment section or by e-mail journeytorothodoxy@gmail.com.

Be Nice

One of the great mysteries of my life is the fact that I have often been referred to as "nice". This may come as quite a shock to some who would not consider me such. I have discovered along the way a propensity in some to take advantage of nice people. There is something inherent in them that smells blood around a nice person as they set out to pounce on them. I have found this to be true in business and interpersonal-relationships. Such people who have pounced on me for various reasons have discovered that their understanding of nice may be flawed. They are the same who confuse meekness with weakness. Christ was meek but he wasn't weak. He could be the lamb and the lion. Such is the case with the Christian. A case in point right now on the national scene is Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee. He is being called "nice." Some would use it against him and call him "too nice." But, watch him for a while and you see the fire in his eyes, the resolve in his voice and the determination of a man who walks in integrity. Cross that and you won't think him so nice.

My lack of niceness is usually displayed when I see someone hurt by another. I also become a lion when I am confronted with unrighteousness by another. Christ took up the whip and turned over tables. It is that same indignation we should have within us when we see the innocent being wounded. Our whips are our words and our tables are our actions to confront such. I am certain that those in the Temple that day did not consider Jesus very nice, but in that was His righteousness displayed and so should ours.

To be fully like Christ, we must also be longsuffering and slow to anger. That means to be nice as long as possible. But, the greatest challenge is to be very slow or even void to take up your own defense. Christ didn't slap back when he was slapped. He didn't spit back when spat upon. He could have called ten thousand angels to destroy the world and set him free from the cross, but he didn't. Herein he was meek, not weak.

If you have lived at all you know what it is to have enemies. I especially know what it is to have enemies for righteousness sake. Love those who persecute you and pray for those who despitefully use you. It is anything but easy to suffer as Christ did, but lest we forget, we have been crucified with Christ, yet nevertheless we live. Yet it is not we who live but Christ who lives in us.

Be the lamb and be the lion but all in all just try to be nice.

Mike Huckabee-Candidate for President

I commend to you my former Governor, employer, and friend, Mike Huckabee. I can attest to his character, conservatism, compassion, morality, honesty, intense intelligence, wisdom, amazing communication skills, and ability to cross party lines while keeping his principles intact. Mr. Huckabee is what you see. There is no hidden personality, mask, or persona. He was a Republican Governor in a Democratic state and won election and reelection by wide margins. He speaks from the heart and not from the script. He is a balance of grit and diplomacy in this time of peril and division. Mike Huckabee's faith in God is genuine and consistent. His is a personal faith not a political convenience. Journey to Orthodoxy commends this Baptist brother from Hope, Arkansas. He is the real deal in a time when such is needed in our country. Now if only he was Orthodox...(Just kidding Governor... But, if you need this good Southern Baptist boy, turned Orthodox, for anything, just call!)

MIKE HUCKABEE'S STATEMENT OF BELIEF IN GOD
(Republican Debate)
MR BLITZER: Governor Huckabee, at a previous debate, you and two of your colleagues indicated that you do not believe in evolution. You’re an ordained minister. What do you believe? Is it the story of creation as it is reported in the Bible or described in the Bible?
MR. HUCKABEE: It’s interesting that that question would even be asked of somebody running for president. I’m not planning on writing the curriculum for an eighth-grade science book. I’m asking for the opportunity to be president of the United States.
But you’ve raised the question, so let me answer it. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth.” To me it’s pretty simple, a person either believes that God created this process or believes that it was an accident and that it just happened all on its own.
And the basic question was an unfair question because it simply asks us in a simplistic manner whether or not we believed — in my view — whether there’s a God or not. Well let me be very clear: I believe there is a God. I believe there is a God who was active in the creation process. Now, how did he do it, and when did he do it, and how long did he take? I don’t honestly know, and I don’t think knowing that would make me a better or a worse president.
But I’ll tell you what I can tell the country. If they want a president who doesn’t believe in God, there’s probably plenty of choices. But if I’m selected as president of this country, they’ll have one who believes in those words that God did create. And as the words of Martin Luther, “Here I stand. I can do no other.” And I will not take that back.
MR. BLITZER: Governor, but — but — (applause) — I think the specific question — the specific question is do you believe literally it was done in six days and it occurred 6,000 years ago?
MR. HUCKABEE: No, I did answer that, Wolf. I said I don’t know. My point is, I don’t know; I wasn’t there. (Laughter.) But I believe whether God did it in six days or whether he did it in six days that represented periods of time, he did it, and that’s what’s important.
