Glory to God!
ReplyDeleteTurns out the cops were involved immediately :)
ReplyDeleteThe Carole Stephens kind of immediacy or the Elizabeth Williams kind of immediacy? No room for praise or gloating here.
DeleteThe immediate form.
DeleteSo is Elizabeth claiming she called the cops in September and not December now? Or did the heirarchy do the right thing and notify the police when she contacted them? Please enlighten as this is confusing.
DeleteThe hierarchy did not do the right thing.
DeletePlease point out exactly where Elizabeth said anything for months. Cause she hasn't
DeleteThe.spot light is shining bright and hard where it should be today. On the Man who created this whole mess. Focus on that for today. Plenty of blame to spread around but today is about getting a predator off the streets.
Indeed, Elizabeth has not said anything for years. She has refused to comment on the Carole Stephens matter. Nothing to commend here.
DeleteRefusing to comment to you is just good practice, and has nothing to do with actively pursuing prosecution.
DeleteNot commended anything. Just an observation of the comments. She isn't saying what they claimed she said.
DeleteBeing arrested is not proof of guilt. Everyone should consider that. I assume the trial will start soon enough. May God’s will be done.
ReplyDeleteHe is a pedophile who belongs under the jail. May God forgive you.
DeleteNo, Anon 4:51. Not in this case. We should consider and reconsider the proofs that have been offered for 20 years. That you would advocate for this predator at this time is unconscionable and is not the love and fairness you think it is. You need to consider that the maligned mother of the girl FMW raped 20 years ago has looked for this day...as has JTO.
DeleteThe court will settle the matter soon enough. I am prepared to accept the outcome whether guilty or innocent. Are you?
DeleteI am absolutely not. You seem to be early to this story, or are a blind supporter of the "Live and let live" "Judge not" liberal crowd. Read "Rape and Holy Man" for documented proof of his sexual crimes against minors. Advocacy of this sexual predator and attempting to take some kind of high moral high ground just makes you look uninformed. Children and families have been destroyed because of this man and those who protected him. Take your self-righteous pablum somewhere else.
DeleteLegal proof is provided during the trial.
DeleteThank you, Counsellor! Except when it's provided before the trial. Hey, you are not the only red-blooded American here who believes in a fair trial. You are just advocating for fairness for the perpetrator when others here are advocating for the victims and are so relieved FMW's reign of sexual abuse is over. Who does that? Read the room.
DeleteYou have undermined the victims, particularly Elizabeth. Your numerous articles on her behavior during the case of the 15 year old probably will not be beneficial when she testifies against Matthew.
DeleteANON 5:53 Elizabeth is a victim of her own decision to hide her husband's sexual crimes, and now, commenters such as you enable her to play the victim while attacking those who have spent years actually advocating for justice for the children she allowed to be abused. This criticism includes the ROCOR hierarchy and other priests who KNEW and did not stop FMW. JTO will not allow you to obfuscate what is really happening here. Elizabeth is and was and has been complicit and now she and her children are paying the price--"Carole Stephens and her daughter"--say it out loud and maybe it will sink in. We can pray for all of them for we know that no one is sinless, however, JTO and many others choose to defend the defenseless. Seems Elizabeth has you to do that for her.
DeleteOrthodox is rife with misogyny as it is. Questioning Elizabeth’s actions is not misogyny.
DeleteWouldn’t she HAVE to testify to avoid charges anyways?
Nathan, aren't Elizabeth's children some of the victims here? Are you really comfortable crowing about them paying the price?
DeleteAnon 6:22 Would they be victims if she had of defended Carole Stephen’s daughter? God only knows. Pray for them all.
DeleteWith how Metropolitan Hilarion covered this whole thing up, I don't know. Hilarion told Matthew to never tell his wife. It's all very murky.
DeleteBut she did know according to JTO documents.
DeleteI don't trust anything third-hand. Secondhand is a stretch enough.
DeleteYet you remain to read and comment on this blog.
DeleteThe author is a nut. The comments section is keeping Orville Redenbacher in business.
DeleteYes thank you for contributing. 🙏
DeleteThank you too!
DeleteMay truth and peace prevail 🙏
DeleteAnon 6:68 oddly specific information here, did you hear it first hand from Hilarion or Matthew?
DeleteFrom Matthew.
DeleteSo you knew he was accused of rape?
DeleteYes, but so did anyone else who saw this site. The admission was after police were informed. Foolish.
DeleteAll this talk about a trial makes the assumption that he will lie and plead not guilty.
DeleteI think he will plead guilty. I hope he doesn't so he can be nailed to the cross of his own lies.
DeleteAnon 9:42 & 10
DeleteIt seems like you must be close to the family and if Matthew admitted the rape of his goddaughter to you and how Hilarion wanted to cover it up, this information would be beneficial to help bring closure not only to the current situation but to Carole Stephen’s family. I pray this information will find the right people to bring justice to all the victims.
Nathan is a bad faith actor who has hurt Matthew's survivors deeply.
DeleteIn 2019 the future son-in-law of FMW and Elizabeth Williams sent JTO an email stating that he had great concerns that his future children would never get to see their grandfather. He also stated that he had privately informed Bishop Nicholas of his concern. Matthew's survivors were hurt deeply by their Bishop's refusal to act at that time and also by Elizabeth's failure to act by protecting her children from their father. She knew of the rape of her goddaughter and was complicit in that coverup. JTO and others have exposed the actions or inaction of all the bad-faith actors who personally caused hurt to the victims. So, you don't get to come on here anonymously with your Red Herring accusations. Bishops, priests, and family members knew of FMW crimes and did nothing, but you blame the JTO blog? Mirrors are still inexpensive at Walmart. Buy one, no, buy several and pass them out to the real bad faith actors.
DeleteNo, Nathan, I’m not blaming your blog. I’m blaming you personally for contributing to the harm these victims have suffered. You’re throwing out highly specific accusations without enough evidence. Tread carefully.
DeleteThe "highly specific" accusations were made by Carole Stephens and very well documented with the victim's emails to her mother. Subsequent and recent communication via the victim also confirms that FMW sexually abused his goddaughter. Are you suggesting this didn't happen? On what do you base that? Tread carefully.
DeleteA single source that you have never published, only quoted. Gotcha.
DeleteWould Matthew lie to protect his wife?
DeleteMathew will lie to protect only himself. You can tell he is lying cause his lips are moving. He is a Narcissistic Predator. He will never admit he was personally responsible for anything. "The Meds made me to it" the Devil is doing this. Anything to make himself a victim. His actions should be excused because he said he was sorry. The wake of his destruction will have a ripple effect on many for years to come.
DeleteI don’t think the “I have demons” defense will work in the court of law.
Delete@JTO Editor 9:57am
DeleteWhat exactly did the priest's future son-in-law inform you of in 2019? It couldn't have been the Carole Stephens story since you had posted that before 2019.
You are the one judging, not I.
ReplyDeletehttps://journeytoorthodoxy.blogspot.com/2007/08/quit-saying-judge-not-we-are-supposed.html
DeleteyOu aRe tHe oNe jUdGiNg, i nOt!!!
DeleteNathan at this point you are damned if u do or damned if you do not. People do not like to be proven wrong, and will believe he is an innocent man when logic says otherwise. He is a master at the craft of manipulation, and have fooled many for a long time. You did good here. Thank you
ReplyDeleteNo one has been proven right or wrong. Not yet anyway.
DeleteThanks Anon 5:15 for your words of support but my ire and defense are for Carole Stephens and her daughter not my own reputation or emotional well-being. This type of commenter would do well to read my post explaining my personal experience with the Williams family. I served with Father Gregory Williams, FMW's father in Liberty, TN until he showed himself to be abusive, controlling and less than morally sound. This was the environment in which FMW was raised. I knew Carole Stephens and her children at that time.
DeleteDo the investigators know about the Carole Stephen’s case also?
DeleteWhich post is that?
DeleteNathan, could you please point us to the post about your personal experience with the Williams family? Thanks.

ReplyDeleteSexy mugshot.... NOT
ReplyDeleteHe look guilt ridden. May God have Mercy on his soul
ReplyDeletelmao guilt ridden, don’t frigging kid yourself.
DeleteThere are multiple allegations of his actions before.
Like a spouse who was caught cheating.
He’s not sorry that he did it.
He’s sorry he got caught
How is no one actually reading the charges.
ReplyDeleteUnder 13!!
When this popped off the his daughter was what? 14? 15?
Waaah, waaah, believe Elizabeth, believe all women, waah
If it’s now proven that that victim was 13 and under WHO HID IT?!?!
The his higher ups? Sure, but don’t act like his wife didn’t know anything!
Multiple times she has said “I knew I shouldn’t have left them alone together” and this has been quoted by multiple people.
Waaah waaah, rumor and gossip is a sin.
Then give us clear cut answers to this crisis and stop telling us to shut up.
This is not blaming the wife, this is blaming a child victim.
Delete8:27 how?
DeleteBlaming a child victim for hiding abuse is disgusting. I guess Carole's daughter is a bad person too, for hiding her own abuse from her mother? You people make me sick.
Delete> As if a child wouldn’t tell their mother what their father has done to them.
DeleteThis is literally textbook, and happens all the time. You should be silent on things you know nothing of.
So do the people claiming 8:23 is blaming children victims not have reading comprehension skills? 8:23 isn’t blaming any child victim…. The commentor comes across as understandably angry at the failed adult accountability.
DeleteThe comment specifically calls out the abuser’s higher-ups and his wife. ADULTS in positions of responsibility. Nowhere does it imply that a child should have spoken up or prevented abuse.
Children often don’t disclose abuse, for reasons rooted in fear, confusion, or trauma. That’s well-documented and no one here is disputing it. The question raised is: who among the adults knew something, and who failed to act? That is a valid and necessary discussion and is not victim-blaming.
Let’s keep that distinction clear while we seek the truth. Please stop twisting your emotions into everything. Abuse is horrific enough without clouding the conversation with emotionally charged misreadings. You’re seeing what you want to see not what’s in front of your eyes.
Nathan kindly removed the comment where an idiot was blaming a child with their whole chest.
Delete9:03
DeleteIt’s me again.
Read my words. Again, slowly this time. Digest what I typed.
The girls are the victims, not the Pedophile Enabler.
And I’ll say it again with my whole chest. She knew of their abuse, she did nothing. If you fail to see that then I hope you are not in charge of children yourself.
Ad hominems/attacks on the character of others and/or threats of eternal damnation of those who expose sexual predators and those who protect them will be deleted.
ReplyDeleteThese people who are insane enough to blame child victims, think of the abuse you could have suffered, and imagine the people who could have helped speaking about you this way.
ReplyDeleteYou will answer at the judgement seat. Let's hope it's not with a millstone about your neck.
What’s that second charge all about? And only one count of sexual assault? Didn’t he molest multiple kids?
ReplyDeleteDepends on the state. Might be a good idea to brush up on the law first—ChatGPT's good at helping once you’ve got a more specific question
DeletePer Virginia Law
DeleteUnder § 18.2-370.1, an individual 18 years or older who maintains a custodial or supervisory relationship over a child under 18—and is not legally married to or the legal guardian of the child—commits a Class 6 felony if they, with lascivious intent, knowingly and intentionally: REMOVED FOR PRIVACY
If he was the legal guardian of his children then does this mean he committed alleged acts against someone else who is not his child 🤔
No, both charges could be in regards to the same person. They seem to be very... compatible
DeleteDisgusting
DeleteThe law is very specific, if it was related to his daughter then it would have said Parent.
DeleteMatt is a preist and a pedo in jail..... may God have mercy on him because bubba sure wont! 😂😂😂
ReplyDeleteNo one is rejoicing over his arrest. This entire situation is heartbreaking. Finding out a man you loved and trusted is a Narcissistic Predator is totally mind blowing. Yes he must face the consequences of his actions, and we are called to pray for his soul. Feeling joy in his suffering is just not Christian.
DeleteI don't think most are finding any joy in his suffering, but yes, many of us are rejoicing over his arrest.
ReplyDeleteWhy? Rejoicing... This is a much needed step in the process to hold him, and the many others accountable for failing. This is now a time for prayer and healing. There is nothing to rejoice about. As a victim of child sexual assault myself, I promise you his daughters are not Rejoicing in his arrest. This process is painful, and they all have access to what you are posting. We all know that this day was coming, and it had to happen... But finding joy in any of this is just wrong.
DeleteSaying that it was a much needed step strongly implies that you're glad it happened. Maybe rejoicing is not the exactly right word, but splitting the difference between rejoicing and glad is not a very valuable exercise. It's not as if we're dancing with glee.
ReplyDeleteI am satisfied with the progress of the criminal case... Just not rejoicing in the situation. Nothing to celebrate here.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing to celebrate here. Did he plead guilty yet within a legal court setting? Will he serve his legal sentence without complaint? Has ROCOR laicized him? He is still a priest of ROCOR. Turning himself in because public outcry got too loud for ROCOR to ignore is hardly taking the abuse that he and the system allowed to happen seriously.
DeleteStop trying to defend a child sex predator. I know firsthand that he has caused a lot of grief. The fact that he surrendered himself might bring some mercy and healing. But because of the grandeur of his former position he should never be trusted again to be around children. His father, now deceased priest , even with a jeweled cross, was suspected of sexual misconduct. Stop attacking the work of an advocate for righteous investigation, who has used his gifts to bring about justice and bring about accountability in the church.
ReplyDeleteDefend? Not a chance. He should have never been a priest. Believe me when I say I have see the evil first hand, and he is right where he belongs. I just feel there are no winners here only pain. Not celebrating any of this. I have not attacked anyone who is willing to speak out against crimes against children. I hope anyone who hid him and his crimes should also be held accountable. I just feel like celebrating anything that is happening is not what We should be doing. But flip it how you want. I get it. People are angry and hurt people , hurt people. It Is okay to lash out at.me, you are angry
Delete.. not celebrating.
