She DID Come Forward!

According to Carole Stephens, this is the ROCOR priest that her daughter contacted just hours after the alleged rape by Father Matthew Williams.

From the article Rape and the Holy Man:

Fr. Anastasy P. Yatrelis
[I]f the girl is raped as a minor, her parents have a right to prosecute and avenge her. In a church there is no place for even seducing a minor or statutory rape, and especially under the guise of babysitting. NO! You DO NOT bully a 15 year old child into silence for the good of position and a senior priest as Father Anastasy, should certainly have reported the rape as a mandated reporter to his bishop and to the civil authorities. He is also culpable for the cover up, thus prosecution. The girl would have been forced into counseling, which would have made her life better. The parents would not have been kept under the guise of spiritual well being in such an environment. God parents should be co-parents in the faith. The right people would have paid for their misdeeds instead of young girls suffering violation and shame.

Fr. Anastasy Yatrelis
Home Phone: (843) 873-3718
Mobile Phone: (843) 469-8666

Has ROCOR asked this priest if he talked with the 15-year-old victim of rape? Has ROCOR asked him why he did not report to civil authorities? Did this priest report to his own hierarchy? If he did, then all of the hierarchy are liable for the cover-up. If he didn't, then shouldn't this priest be defrocked? Did this priest at least warn Bishop Hilarion that there was an accusation of sexual crime perpetrated by the deacon he was about to ordain to the priesthood?

Editor's NOTE: Indeed, the 15-year-old girl did not report to civil authorities at the time.  She was an immature 15-year-old who had just been allegedly raped by her godfather, Deacon Matthew Williams, then cajoled into forgiving and forgetting by her godparents, Matthew and Elizabeth Williams. HOWEVER, IF SHE REPORTED THE RAPE TO FATHER YATRELIS, SHE DID COME FORWARD! Why didn't he? ...or did he? "The matter you have brought up was open to investigation by our ecclesiastical channels previously, but it was curtailed due to lack of accusation on the part of the alleged victim." Metropolitan Hilarion in a letter to JTO.

READ Carole Stephens' article: To Orthodox Hierarchy: What is your game?

Editor's NOTE: If Father Yatrelis would like to refute this accusation by Carole Stephens, he may contact JTO at journeytoorthodoxy@gmail.com. JTO will post his rebuttal in full without editing.

All these false shepherds need to be held accountable. If Elizabeth was convinced to forgive and reconcile with her pedo husband it’s not far fetched to say she did the same for a child’s rape. If these men can convince someone to forgive and forget serious crimes they should be punished as much as the perpetrators of those crimes.

If you convinced me to murder someone and I did it. I’m still guilty of murder.

That’s why we prosecute accomplices, conspirators, and those who aid and abet. Shepherds who manipulate forgiveness to shield predators are spiritually, legally, and morally complicit. Inciting and enabling crimes makes a person culpable in the eyes of the law.

Please think with all your brain cells when you get on here.

By your standards, this is a cover-up by the daughter.

      Standards ok

Did she sit on the info like Elizabeth did until it suited her?
Wow ok, so the girl said something, she was told to shut up and her mother went to the Cops immediately. Not like the “immediately” like Elizabeth did.

That standard? The standard where it’s a 15yo girl who is scared?

I thought we were believing all women? Oh my bad, she doesn’t hold the valuable title right? So she’s lying and gossiping?

The Elizabeth supporters are going through a different kind of emotional gymnastics to think what Carols girl did is the same thing remotely to what Elizabeth sat on for YEARS.

    3. Anon 1:50 Comments/attacks/judgement such as this directed at a 15-year-old victim of rape is why she did not want to come forward and even hid it from her mother for several years. Now, 20 years later, she may yet speak out. Hopefully, she will address the fear of callous remarks such as yours. It is these types of comments that prompt me to make the commenters identify themselves before posting. Cowards hate sunlight. Anonymous comments allow a platform for the vilest of humanity to have a voice. You are not well-received in any context. Prediction: Elizabeth will eventually admit her role in the Stephens affair, including the direct and in-person attempt to prevent the victim from talking. She will couch it in other terms with an explanation and verbiage designed to show her good motives. This may only come about when the Stephens girl speaks out. It will be difficult at that time for Elizabeth to call the girl a liar.

Editor at 8:43 Elizabeth will claim victimhood and being forced to do so by her husband, not her good merits because there are none to be found in silencing and attempting to bribe a child her husband raped. Victimhood and deflection is her go-to.

Nathan, how many times have you spoken directly to Carol’s daughter about her rape by FMW?

    6. Anon 1:48 How many times have you asked questions on JTO that are NUNYA?

1:48 why would you ask such an inappropriate question. That is absolutely none of anyone business. Just a heads up Nathan will not now or ever give details of what happened to any of Mathew's victims. So just don't go there, it is just gross and intrusive.

It would be helpful to know if Nathan is reporting on first hand or second hand information in regards to the rape allegation. I did not ask for details.

It's a super-appropriate question. What Carole Stephens says about Fr Matthew, when her own daughter denies it (even after being grown), is immaterial ... especially since Nathan himself has focused on Carole's and his own grudges against Fr Gregory.

    11. Anon 4:10 Really? The rape didn't happen, and Carole is lying? Despicable conduct on your part to try to pit these two victims against each other on this forum. Use your own rule and direct us to when and where the daughter has "denied it." Did you even read the email exchange between Carole and her daughter? Not all of the daughter's claims have been posted. That will be for her to do when she is ready.

4:55 why are you mocking the term believe all women when it was the Elizabeth party that brought it up in the first place.

The reason why opposing party is clowning the term is because you ONLY believe Elizabeth side of the story on all accounts.

Nobody should believe Elizabeth. There are at least three different factions here. JTO wants people to believe that any sexual allegation should automatically be believed. No evidence is ever offered. Elizabeth plays the game halfway so she can get a favorable divorce but not be liable for subjecting children to endangerment or for legal liability if FMW is exonerated.

It's a dangerous game and she will lose either way.

Did you consider the fact that if the case were strong and were not simply a case of the son-in-law of Fr Matthew coaching one girl to make a very general allegation, then a judge would not have bonded him out?

No evidence of anything has ever been published. In fact, Elizabeth's own letter and her son-in-law's own website in Fr Matthew's name only use innuendo - no facts.

@4:12 it is rather suspicious there is only two charges. There were 3 daughters. When multiple victims are involved, prosecutors typically file separate charges for each individual to ensure clarity and uphold each victim’s rights.

Define "abuse" - there's abuse like rape and then there's abuse like hitting someone (which can range from disciplinary spanking/popping to malicious violence) and then there's "you were mean to me" emotional abuse.

But, yes, facing charges for one. There are no formal allegations from "three" daughters.

This girl herself consistently denied the allegations HER MOTHER made. Her mother's story does not sound credible. Elizabeth to this day denies them. The "admission" of guilt to which Nathan always points is no such thing just as a generic apology text message with no context from Fr Matthew to Elizabeth is no proof of child rape.

Y'all have a grudge to bear against the Matthews.

---We've only been hearing that for some years now. It's getting old.

Pride is being so upset at Fr Gregory that you spread a nasty rumor about him, Karen out calling his employer to get him cancelled, and make a pact with FMW's son-in-law to ruin FMW's life.

But the evidence is totally coming bro ... just wait ... it's totally coming...

Why would his son in law want to ruin his life out of pure curiosity as someone who doesn’t know these people?

    4. Anonymous4:48 PM

      @4:36

Son-in-law and his wife eloped because FMW and Elizabeth did not approve of their marriage. Later, they "reconciled" but apparently not entirely. JTO has stated separately that:

"In 2019 the future son-in-law of FMW and Elizabeth Williams sent JTO an email stating that he had great concerns that his future children would never get to see their grandfather. He also stated that he had privately informed Bishop Nicholas of his concern..."

FMW and Elizabeth kicked son-in-law out, he and his wife started plotting revenge and hooked up with Nathan once he saw these old allegations online. Eventually, he exploited a real rift between FMW and Eliz., but even the latter's e-mail to the congregation, which was billed as some admission, denies rape, and only says FMW "hurt" some of her daughters.

I think in most families people "hurt" each other - which can include saying a mean thing or spanking. This is carefully worded to avoid legal liability while convincing self-styled pedo hunters.
