Regarding the arrested, former "Father" Matthew Williams, and the ROCOR Hierarchy's knowledge and enabling of a sexual predator in their clergy ranks: We have the receipts. This letter was included with the printed document, Rape and the Holy Man, and delivered to the then Hierarch. Here also is the hierarch's response.
Currently, now in 2025, ROCOR Bishop Nicholas and others knew also, as attested by Matthew William's own son-in-law, six years prior to the former priest's arrest for sexual crimes against his own daughters. Read RAPE AND THE HOLY MAN and What Did Bishop Nicholas Know and When Did He Know It? To this day, Matthew Williams has yet to be charged with the alleged rape of his 15-year-old goddaughter in the early 2000's.
Why has this victim not gone to the police? It's almost like she wants to protect him.
ReplyDeleteThe victim was 15 years old and kept it from her mother because she was cajoled to silence by the perpetrator and his wife. At the time the 15-year-old girl went to a priest and told him. He cajoled her to silence. When the mother found out a few years later, the mother went to the police and started her campaign for justice. Bishop Hilarion was WRONG. There was not a "lack of accusation". It was this brush off that motivated me to go public with the documentation. I was threatened with excommunication if I did so. They wanted the matter handled behind closed doors. The years that followed saw Matthew Williams committing crimes with his daughters behind his closed doors. I won't rewrite the article Rape and the Holy Man in the comment section. Please do your due diligence by reading the various parts of the JTO expose' on this matter. You can find most of them to the right in Popular Posts.
DeleteHas the victim, now in her 30s, gone to police yet? There is no statute of limitations on rape in the state of Georgia.
DeleteTo my knowledge, the victim has not. I believe she is aware of the current events. It is up to her at this point in her life how or if to get involved. The sexual abuse followed by the intimidation by religious leaders has been a strong deterrent. She had no advocate when the incident occurred. By the time her mother found out, the daughter was already in the process of coping. Opening old wounds is not easy.
DeleteSo she protected Matthew, including from her own mother, and continues to do so to the present day.
DeleteThis is a somewhat ignorant and calloused indictment of a victim of rape. "Protected"? You think she is playing a game for fun? You still haven't read Rape and the Holy Man or you would be aware that she absolutely denounced with strong profanity both Matthew and his wife. I am usually a little more diplomatic with the ignorance of people such as yourself, but your suggestion is beyond the pale of decency. So...let me quote President Reagan, "AHHHH shut up". The only future comment JTO will approve from you is an apology or clarification. I will not allow this forum to give a voice to those who would vilify the victim.
